A career as a Senior Legal Counsel in the Human Experience and Performance team at National Bank means acting as a trusted legal partner on employment law matters, workforce initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and global mobility programs.

Your role
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of employment law matters and support the implementation of strategic business initiatives.
- Advise senior leaders, Human Experience and Performance teams, and business partners on complex, sensitive, and high-impact employment-related issues.
- Draft, review and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and other legal documentation to protect the Bank's interests and support organizational objectives.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, organizational transformations, and workforce initiatives by identifying legal risks and recommending practical solutions.
- Coordinate and supervise mandates entrusted to external legal counsel in Canada and internationally.
- Monitor legislative developments and contribute to compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the development of practical legal tools.

Within the Human Experience and Performance department, you are part of a multidisciplinary team and report to the Senior Director, Employment Law, Mergers and Acquisitions HR and Global Mobility. Prerequisites
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Law and be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec.
- Have a minimum of seven years of experience in employment law or a related legal practice.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in advising on employment law issues and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal agreements and documentation.
- Possess experience supporting complex organizational initiatives, transactions, mergers and acquisitions, or workforce transformation projects.
- Demonstrate the ability to balance legal risk management with business objectives and operational realities.
- Have experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality legal support in a fast-paced environment
