Job Overview
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to build and support software and hardware solutions that accelerate smart-manufacturing transformation. You will work with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams, with guidance from senior engineers, to develop reliable and scalable applications that improve production visibility, automation, and cycle time.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of software solutions in a manufacturing environment. You will also help troubleshoot hardware and system-integration issues while ensuring solutions meet network and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building, enhancing, and supporting software and hardware solutions for smart-manufacturing transformation.
- Develop applications and tools that improve manufacturing cycle time, operational efficiency, and production visibility.
- Write, test, debug, deploy, and maintain software under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Diagnose and help resolve software, hardware, and system-integration issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver practical technical solutions.
- Work with IT to ensure solutions comply with network, security, and infrastructure requirements.
- Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and usability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of professional software development experience, with some experience in low-level languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
- Basic hardware debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Communicate with Chinese is an asset.
Pay: $37.00-$57,000.00 per year
