Hickman Automotive Group is currently accepting resumes for the full-time position of Detailing and Rental Agent with our affiliated company, NL Car Rentals in St. John's, NL. We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to manage all aspects of our car rental company.
The Detailing & Rental Agent plays a dual role supporting both the operational and customer‑service sides of a car‑rental business. This position ensures vehicles are cleaned, inspected, and prepared for customers while also assisting with front‑desk rental transactions, customer inquiries, and returns. Ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work as well as interacting with customers in a fast‑paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and detail rental vehicles (interior and exterior) to company standards
- Vacuum interiors, wash exteriors, clean windows, wipe surfaces, and remove debris.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections: fuel level, tire pressure, lights, and overall condition.
- Move vehicles around the lot, wash bay, and return area safely and efficiently.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the wash bay area.
- Report damages, mechanical issues, or safety concerns to management.
- Greet customers professionally and assist with rental pick-ups and returns.
- Assist customers with basic inquiries when needed.

- Complete rental agreements, verify documentation, and explain rental terms.
- Provide vehicle options based on customer needs and availability.
- Process payments and handle customer inquiries both in person and by phone.
- Inspect returning vehicles for fuel level, mileage, and damages.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast paced and physically active environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to operate various vehicle types (cars, SUVs, trucks).
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Basic problem-solving abilities. Reliability, punctuality, and team-oriented attitude.
- High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically active tasks.
- Comfortable operating various vehicle types (cars, SUVs, trucks).
- Basic computer skills for rental system usage.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to stay calm in fast paced or high-volume environments.
