What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Data Analysis, Decision Management. You will be the subject matter expert for Cards, Payments & Banking Data, playing a key role in driving superior business results, by providing key strategic insights and recommendations on new and existing business opportunities, through in-depth knowledge of the RBC data warehouse environment. You will be a champion the use of deep analytic rigour as the basis for the decision management methodology and leverage all available sources of data to create value within the business.
What will you do?
Become the data subject matter expert (SME) for Cards, Payments and Banking, Retail, Small business and Commercial credit card holders
Support the roll-out of key business projects, plan, perform and deliver timely testing of data and ensure data and analytics capabilities are developed on time.
Responsible for the rapid deployment of reporting and analytics to define new potential business opportunities and to make well informed decisions (short and long term) through the use of internal, industry and competitor data.
Develop reports to detect and trace data anomalies and perform impact analysis
Transform the way Cards, Payments and Banking uses data by developing advanced reporting and analytics to serve external and internal clients.
Develop new methodologies and business analytical tools to address complex business issues. Identify measure and monitor the impact and success of new and existing initiatives, including but not limited to pricing, acquisition and portfolio management.
Provide data/report solutions to self-served users to develop their own reports on the supported BI tools.
Participate and contribute to projects with other partner groups to meet business requirements on behalf of Cards, Payments & Banking that are completed using other Centre’s of Excellence.
What do you need to succeed?
Proven technical skills and experience at using analytical software tools and applications such as SAS, Tableau, SQL, Python, PySpark
Experienced working with data in relational databases and/or Hadoop
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to conceptualize strategy.
Demonstrated ability to work well collaboratively in a cross function environment as well as independently, taking initiative and ownership.
Experience with database systems and data management.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of RBC databases and RBC data warehouse environment.
Knowledge of credit cards, payments and/or Banking
Certification in SAS, Tableau and/or relational databases
Experience in Unix/Linux Shell scripting
