What are we looking for?

Working from our head office here in Ottawa, you will report to the Senior Product Manager, Product Compliance and will have a wide range of duties with a focus to produce content around our product and compliance. You will produce documents for our core platforms for our users/validators as part of Assent’s Product department and will play an integral role in creating clear and concise documentation that might be required by different stakeholder groups.

This opportunity is suited to someone who is eager to learn with high motivation, is highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

What You’ll Do:
Produce documents for our core platforms to be used by our users

Work with our Quality team to produce and manage test cases to support 3rd party software validation

Perform supplemental product testing

Help build training videos and guides

Manage product translations

Help product online help content

This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Responsibilities may be altered and/or added from time to time to meet business needs.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:
A University, College and/or Post Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing or a related area of study or equal working experience;

At least 3 years of experience in a Technical Writer role;

A technical background and experience are an asset;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English - you communicate clearly, concisely and with tact;

Experience building user guides for Web and Mobile Apps

Superb interpersonal skills - you are able to establish great cross-functional relationships in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of stakeholders - internally and externally;

Excellent time management and organizational skills - ability to effectively prioritize and execute on several asks for many different client accounts and internal stakeholders;

You are intellectually curious with excellent problem-solving skills

An equivalent combination of education and experience, which results in demonstrated ability to apply skills, will also be considered.
