Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, enforcing safety protocols, and responding promptly to incidents. This role requires a professional with strong observational skills, conflict management abilities, and knowledge of surveillance systems. Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is highly valued. The Security Guard will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment through proactive patrols and effective incident response.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) to observe activity and detect suspicious behavior
- Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR if certified
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing and preventing theft or vandalism
- Manage conflicts professionally, de-escalating situations when necessary
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or investigations as required
- Maintain a visible presence to reassure staff and visitors of their safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields preferred
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment (CCTV) operation and monitoring techniques
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle tense situations calmly and effectively
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to remain alert during long shifts and work flexible hours as needed
- Physical fitness to perform patrol duties, including standing for extended periods and walking large areas of the premises
- Must pass background checks consistent with company policies and legal requirements
