Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Human Resources Coordinator, West Zone on a permanent basis at our office in Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll do:
You will support the West Zone HR team with their local co-op portfolios across BC and Alberta, as well as the HR team supporting the Edmonton Distribution Center and Propane. The scope of duties includes talent acquisition, integration/onboarding for new Team Members, health and safety, administration of benefits, payroll and pension, retirements, leaves of absences, salary, seniority, and reporting.

Total Rewards/Benefits: you will work with HR Advisors to initiate and document processes for benefits, pension, new hires and terminations, change of status, salary and seniority adjustments, retirements, WCB, LTD and leave of absences. You will advise on compensation practices and placement as per policy and collective agreement.
Labour Relations: You will assist with interpretation and administration of the collective agreement. You will work collaboratively with the Advisors to provide support to business clients and employees. You will assist Advisors with investigations, including conducting employee interviews/meetings, record keeping, and follow up documentation to ensure transparency throughout the process. You will provide advice and guidance to supervisors on the administration of the Attendance Management Program for unionized employees.
Talent Acquisition: You will be responsible for the talent acquisition process for non-management employees in the West Zone Edmonton office, Propane, and Edmonton Distribution Center. You will ensure adherence to company policies and standards for the talent acquisition process, including but not limited to the creation of postings, pre-screens, interviews, career fairs, references and offers.
Retail Operations: You will partner with the West Zone HR Team to support Co-operative Retail System human resources programs and services across British Columbia and Alberta. Occasional travel across these geographic areas may be required.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Human Resources & Training and:

You have a Degree, with preference for a major in Human Resources.
You have a minimum of 1 - 3 years of HR generalist experience. If you have experience in a unionized environment it would be considered an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
