Sweet N' Salty is an exciting new late-night dessert café and speakeasy created by a mother-daughter duo. Our concept combines handcrafted desserts, specialty cocktails, café beverages, and beautifully curated charcuterie boards in a welcoming and unique atmosphere.
As we prepare to launch, we are looking for a creative and motivated Lead Pantry Chef to join our team and help build something special from the ground up.
What You'll Do
Reporting directly to the Head Pastry Chef, you will lead the development and execution of our pantry offerings, including charcuterie boards and specialty cold preparations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys food presentation, menu creativity, and working in a startup environment where their ideas can make a real impact.
Responsibilities
● Prepare and present charcuterie boards and specialty pantry items.
● Create visually appealing displays featuring cured meats, cheeses, fruits, spreads, pickled items, and accompaniments.
● Assist with the development of seasonal and specialty menu offerings.
● Develop menu items that accommodate dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free options where applicable.
● Ensure consistent quality, portioning, and presentation standards.
● Assist the Head Pastry Chef with staff scheduling and daily operational planning.
● Help train, mentor, and support pantry team members.
● Manage pantry inventory, monitor food costs, and communicate ordering requirements
● Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
● Support special events, catering orders, and custom pantry requests.
● Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
● Completion of secondary school.
● Food Handler Certification.
● WHMIS Certification.
● Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps Certification.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
● Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience in a pantry, catering, or restaurant kitchen environment.
● Experience creating charcuterie boards or specialty food displays.
● Experience with inventory management and food cost control.
Physical Requirements
● Ability to stand for extended periods.
● Ability to lift and carry food products and supplies.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule
