Consequently, we are looking for a full-time Fitter who would like to join our team. This position requires availability for all shifts including weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and material lists and gathering material and tools.
- Layout parts and subassemblies by reading measurements. Tack weld plate/structural steel.
- Assemble material by tack welding parts to fit correctly.
- Verify specifications by measuring completed assembly.
- Resolve assembly problems by notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources and information
- Possess technical knowledge of welding procedures, welding materials and welding equipment by applying past experience including use of fixtures/jigs, learning company welding standards, and on the job training.
- Straightening fabrications (press/heat)
- Operate material handling equipment (lift truck or overhead crane)
- Maintaining clean work area and helping in welding or other areas when needed.
Qualifications
- CWB Certification is an asset
- MIG welding experience, basic weld symbol knowledge, and CWB tickets required
- Prior experience fitting complex fabrications considered an asset
- Overhead crane and rigging experience required
- Blueprint reading skills required
- Saw and hand torch experience required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes required
