Profile
The Pond Cleaner / Harvester is responsible for the timely cleaning and sanitation of the cultivation systems, the final dipping of marine plants from cultivation tanks and routine maintenance associated with the cultivation systems.
Relationships
The Harvest and Sanitation Crew member reports to the Harvest/Sanitation Supervisor and works closely with others in similar roles. Building positive working relationships with Cultivation, Processing, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance personnel on site is essential.
Accountabilities
Ensure all protocols, procedures and management decisions related to the daily sanitation, dipping and routine maintenance of the cultivation systems are carried out promptly, effectively and safely in order to meet the budgeted production, quality and cost objectives.
Participate in the implementation of HACCP, GMP and SPC systems and ensure all operations are managed in a food grade acceptable environment.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
· Cleaning of cultivation tanks in a timely, effective and safe manner
· Dipping of remaining plants in cultivation tanks
· Cleaning of dividers and water lines in a timely, effective and safe manner
· Routine maintenance of cultivation tanks, dividers and other system components
· Cleaning of Settling tanks
· Assist with collecting and analysis of foreign material and defects when required
· Conduct and Reporting of Foreign Material and Defect Analysis
· Assist with site house keeping and clean-up
· Assist Pond Technicians when required
· Assist Site Maintenance when required
· To participate in JOHSC Committee as required
Safety Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with the Workplace Health & Safety Program, Corporate Policies and Procedural Programs, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and follow all safe work practices.
· Support and be involved in the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee
· Use “Due Diligence” in all daily work activities
· Exercise care within your work areas to prevent injuries to themselves and to their co-workers
· Take all training that is required for you to do your job safely
· Report all accidents and unsafe conditions and acts to your supervisor
Education/Competencies
· High School completion.
· Agricultural or Aquacultural Production experience is an asset.

Performance is evaluated by results: Ability to perform required duties, focus on protocols, & procedures and creation of an environment to meet target objectives of quantity, quality and cost of cultivated marine plants.
