Senior .NET / Microsoft 365 Developer — Agentic AI
Vancouver, BC | Hybrid | Full Time
If you think AI is going to change how software gets built, we agree!
But we're less interested in talking about it than we are in using it to build real software.
At Spot Solutions, we've incorporated Agentic AI deeply into our development process. Used properly, we've found that it can make an experienced developer dramatically more productive — in some projects, allowing us to deliver software roughly twice as fast as we could previously.
We're looking for an experienced developer who wants to work this way.
This is not an "AI job”
It's a software development job where AI is becoming one of your most powerful tools.
You'll still need to understand architecture, databases, APIs, security, testing, maintainability and what makes software actually useful to the people who have to use it.
The difference is that you'll have AI agents helping you write, understand, test and improve that software.
We use tools such asClaude Code, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio and VS Code, and we're continually experimenting with better ways to use multiple models and agents.
If you've already gone well beyond basic AI-assisted coding, we'd love to talk to you.
If you haven't, but you're an excellent developer who is curious about this new way of working, we'd also like to talk to you.
The unusual part of this job
We're looking for someone who can move between custom software development and Microsoft 365/SharePoint development.
That isn't accidental.
One day you might be building a C#/.NET web application and integrating it with a business system.
The next day you might be:
- Designing a SharePoint solution
- Building a Power Automate workflow
- Creating a Power App
- Migrating content with ShareGate
- Writing PowerShell
- Working with Microsoft Graph
- Figuring out how to move a client's existing business process into Microsoft 365
We don't automatically write custom software when a Power Platform solution is better.
And we don't force a low-code solution onto a problem that really needs custom software.
We choose the technology that best solves the problem.
That's one of the things that makes this role interesting.
What you'll bring
We're looking for a strong developer with:
Strong experience:
- C# / .NET
- Web applications and APIs
- SQL / relational databases
- Git
- Visual Studio and/or VS Code
- Software architecture and application design
Meaningful Microsoft 365 experience:
- SharePoint Online
- Power Apps and/or Power Automate
- PowerShell
- Microsoft Graph
- ShareGate or another migration platform
Useful additional experience:
- Azure
- Dataverse
- Power BI
- SPFx
- JavaScript
- HTML / CSS / JSON
- Other programming languages such as Python, PHP or Java
AI experience:
We're particularly interested in people who have used AI agents for more than autocomplete or generating a few functions.
For example:
- Developing substantial applications with AI agents
- Using AI to analyze unfamiliar or legacy code
- AI-assisted architecture and design
- AI-assisted testing
- Prompt engineering and context management
- Multi-agent or multi-model workflows
- Establishing sensible review and testing practices for AI-generated code
You don't need every item.
We're hiring a developer, not a checklist.
What kind of person succeeds here?
Someone who:
- Gets genuinely interested when faced with a problem they've never solved before
- Can look at a business process and figure out what technology should — and shouldn't — be involved
- Doesn't confuse a technically impressive solution with a useful solution
- Can explain technical concepts to a business user
- Cares about the quality of the software they leave behind
- Is comfortable admitting "I don't know" and then figuring it out
- Enjoys learning
- Isn't afraid of new technology — but isn't impressed by technology simply because it's new
What you'll get
You'll work on different problems, with different clients, using different technologies.
You'll work alongside experienced developers and consultants who have spent years building everything from custom business applications to SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
You'll also get a front-row seat to something we think is going to fundamentally change software development: using Agentic AI as part of the development process rather than simply as a coding assistant.
And, because we're in Vancouver:
- Gastown location
- Close to SkyTrain
- Rooftop deck
- Friday lunches and knowledge-sharing
- Team events
- Snacks and drinks
- Flexible work environment
- Super Flexible Time Banking
- Competitive compensation and benefits
