Responsibilities
The primary roles of the Business Development and Sales team at Industrial Specialty Services Canada ULC (ISS) are to support the assigned business area by:
- Achieving sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and obtaining new business contracts
- Conducting sales and service activities, developing strong customer relationships, and identifying ISS services that will benefit current and potential customers, including applications such as leak sealing, field machining, line isolation, and controlled bolting
- Preparing quotations and proposals, following up, negotiating terms, and closing transactions
- Organizing and conducting training sessions for customers
- Surveying market and competitive conditions
- Completing reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related matters
- Monitoring customer complaints, following up on outstanding orders, and making emergency or after-hours calls and deliveries to industrial facilities as required
- Reviewing work sites and taking measurements for equipment at customer locations
Skills & Requirements
ISS Business Development and Sales Managers are self-motivated and driven by a desire to exceed expectations. They possess strong prioritization, planning, and time-management skills, along with a sense of urgency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish rapport and build solid relationships at all levels within ISS and with customers are key to success.
- 5+ years of proven outside industrial sales experience
- Proven experience and success in developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory, along with a sense of urgency and excellent interpersonal skills
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new approaches, with a strong desire to succeed
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
- Experience working in industrial facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, power plants, Liquid Natural Gas facilities, pipelines, and upstream oil and gas facilities is required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass required drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to pass a fitness-for-duty test to enter and work in industrial facilities
- Ability to pass a Nuclear Security Background Check
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
