Position: Dietary Aide
Site: Lyndhurst Centre- Toronto Rehab
Department: Nutrition
Reports to: Supervisor
Salary Range: $22.862 - $23.450 per hour (Start Rate: $22.862 per hour in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Hours: up to 30.00 hours biweekly
Shifts: Various shifts and alternate weekends as required
Status: Permanent Part-Time

As an integral member of the Nutrition Department, the principal responsibilities of DIETARY AIDE include:

Assembling meal trays, as per meal ticket request; retrieving, stocking and setting up food items and supplies at workstations; disassembling, cleaning and maintaining workstation and tray assembly area, cold food production and portioning prepared foods. Snack preparation, Ware washing and cleaning as required, receiving groceries.

Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Qualifications:
New hires must have grade 12 or equivalent education
Good manual dexterity and organizational skills
Good team player
6 months practical and related experience
Food Service Worker Certificate preferred
Food Handlers Certificate preferred
Ability to read/understand short notes, brief forms and memos
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift up to 10 kg, loading, and unloading food carts
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
Required to work alternating weekends and statutory holidays
May be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
