Position Summary
The Facility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout our manufacturing facility, offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, and shared spaces. This role helps support employee safety, workplace hygiene, and the efficient operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, meeting rooms, entrances, hallways, and other common areas
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors throughout the facility
- Empty garbage and recycling containers and move waste to designated collection areas
- Replenish washroom and kitchen supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables
- Clean sinks, toilets, counters, tables, appliances, windows, doors, and high-touch surfaces
- Remove dust and debris from designated production and warehouse areas
- Clean spills promptly and place appropriate warning signage to prevent injuries
- Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition
- Monitor cleaning-supply inventory and advise management when items need to be reordered
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, pest activity, leaks, or property damage
- Complete scheduled deep-cleaning tasks as assigned
- Assist with seasonal cleaning and other general facility-maintenance duties
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous commercial, industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing cleaning experience is preferred
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and WHMIS procedures is an asset
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules, instructions, and safety procedures
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Respectful and professional when working around employees, visitors, and customers
- Basic English communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, ladders, and equipment
- Comfortable working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
Working Conditions
This position involves working throughout an active manufacturing facility. The employee may be exposed to dust, noise, cleaning chemicals, moving equipment, and changing temperatures. Required personal protective equipment and safety training will be provided.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
