As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Sales Manager to join our leadership team.
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the showroom while driving sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team development. Working closely with the second Sales Manager and General Manager, this individual will provide leadership, coaching, and operational support to ensure the consistent execution of dealership processes and achievement of departmental objectives.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong presence on the sales floor, excellent communication skills, and a focus on developing people, improving processes, and delivering results.
Key Responsibiltiies
Lead the daily operation of the showroom and sales floor.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
Maximize new and used vehicle sales volume, gross profit, and market share.
Review daily sales performance and implement action plans to achieve dealership objectives.
Lead daily sales meetings and communicate dealership priorities, promotions, and manufacturer programs.
Monitor departmental performance and implement corrective action where required.
Manage daily sales floor activities, customer traffic, salesperson workload, scheduling, and floor coverage.
Ensure consistent execution of the dealership sales process.
Maintain showroom presentation and merchandising standards.
Review all new and used vehicle leads daily to ensure timely response and follow-up.
Meet daily with the Business Development Centre (BDC) to review lead activity, appointments, and sales opportunities.
Monitor CRM activity to ensure follow-up tasks, appointments, and customer communications are completed on time.
Review unsold showroom traffic, missed sales opportunities, and pending deals daily.
Ensure daily prospecting activities are completed, including equity mining, lease maturities, previous customers, referrals, orphan owners, and service drive opportunities.
Assist Sales Consultants in overcoming objections and closing vehicle sales.
Deal Management

Provide desking support and structure vehicle transactions.

Approve pricing and negotiations within dealership guidelines.

Support Sales Consultants during negotiations and customer presentations.

Review deal profitability and manufacturer program eligibility prior to submission to Finance.

Partner with Finance to improve deal accuracy, product penetrations, and funding quality.
Vehicle Appraisals

Complete accurate and timely vehicle appraisals.
Support the Used Vehicle Inventory Manager with trade evaluations and acquisition decisions.
Maximize trade values while protecting dealership profitability.
Utilize appraisal tools and market data to support purchasing decisions.
Coach Sales Consultants on appraisal fundamentals and trade evaluation best practices.
Lead customer interactions throughout the purchase process.
Resolve customer concerns and escalations professionally.
Support customer turnovers and assist in closing transactions.
Ensure a consistent, professional vehicle delivery experience.
Partner with Finance and Fixed Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Customer Expereince

Sales Team Leadership

Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor and develop Sales Consultants.

Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and performance reviews.

Provide ongoing coaching in negotiation, objection handling, closing techniques, product knowledge, and customer expereince.

Reinforce dealership sales processes and performance expectations.

Provide daily coaching, role=playing, training, and performance feedback to improve closing ratios, customer satisfaction and productivity.

Foster accountability, professionalism, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Operational Leadership

Review lead follow-up completion and CRM Compliance.

Audit deal quality, documentation, and sales process compliance.

Monitor salesperson activity, productivity, and performance.

Support implementation of dealership sales initiatives and process improvements.

Ensure dealership policies and manufacturer programs are consistently followed.

Maintain effective communication with Finance, Fixed Operations, Marketing, and Used Vehicle Inventory Manager.

Work closely with the Used Vehicle Inventory Manager regarding inventory availability and trade appraisals.

Partner with the New Vehicle Operations Sales Manager to align inventory strategy and departmental priorities.

Collaborate with Finance to improve product penetration, funding quality, and customer experience.

Support Marketing initiatives, inventory campaigns, and dealership events.

Provide recommendations and operational updates to the General Manager.

Minimum 3-5 years of automotive sales management experience preferred.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.

Strong understanding of dealership operations, CRM systems, and sales processes.

Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

OMVIC Licence in good standing.

Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
