Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Retail Business Advisor (RBA) is responsible to provide ongoing support to assigned IDA Guardian and RRX owners in Ontario, Canada. The territory includes pharmacy locations primarily in Northern Ontario and surrounding areas. The RBA is a business consultant, assisting the pharmacy owner in increasing top line sales, maximizing gross profit, and managing assets and expenses. The RBA will assist with training and development of owners and employees, while identifying operational opportunities and assisting owners with profitable solutions. Focus is on fulfillment of strategic goals as established and communicated on an annual basis and supported by corresponding measurements.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain and strengthen business relationships with owners
  • To assist existing pharmacy owners in increasing sales and profitability
  • Monitor pharmacy compliance on on-going basis
  • On-going implementation of programs, in particular marketing programs, in order to increase private brand sales
  • Plan and implement a regular program/call cycle of store visits, with banner stores in the assigned territory
  • Collaboratively create and consult with the owner to execute their annual business plan
  • Prepare for and conduct quarterly financial reviews and build business plans with each banner store owner
  • Provide comprehensive operational support in all areas; marketing, advertising, pharmacy operations, formulary compliance, point-of-sale (POS) activities, and pharmacy technology usage
  • Train pharmacy owners and their employees on best practices in retail merchandising operations: displays, labeling, promotional activities, loss management and profitability analysis
  • Influence pharmacy owners to subscribe to the various services offered by the Retail Banner group and refer them to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Be the market expert in cash transactions and third-party plans
  • Manage and coach adherence to vendor programs.
  • Liaison between the store, Retail Banner Services and preferred suppliers to ensure customer concerns are communicated and resolved
  • Provide store leads to Business Development, PTS, Home Health Care and Pharmacy Services.
  • To recruit existing independent pharmacies
  • Help develop the network by identifying future sites and prospective owners
