True North Clinical Research/True North Psychological is hiring a Full-Time Administrative Assistant for our New Minas office. This position is expected to start August 31, 2020.
True North Clinical Research is conducting ground-breaking research in Nova Scotia with clinics located in Halifax, New Minas and Sydney. We play an important role in improving treatments for people with conditions like Alzheimer’s Disease, depression and diabetes, among others. Clinical trials are an essential part of developing these new, potentially life-changing drugs. True North Psychological Services is providing high quality mental health services to the members of our community. True North Psychological Services currently offers services in psychiatry, psychology, and Social Work.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing ongoing support for a busy multi-disciplinary clinic. Duties will include scheduling for multiple clinicians, providing excellent customer service, processing all billings, including, federal and private insurance, collecting fee’s directly from clients, calling to verify coverage and following through on any missed payments or billing issues. Data entry, and filing as required, fielding phone calls and inquiries, as well as maintaining a clean and tidy waiting area. Other tasks required as needed.
Hours & Salary:
This is a full-time position. Currently we are looking for someone available for Monday to Friday 9am -5pm. These hours are subject to change, some evenings may be required.

The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and have an exceptional eye for detail with the ability to think outside the box. You will have the ability to build rapport and exude professionalism with all interactions. You will possess high-level customer service skills, have a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and expand your skills. Excellent communication and time management skills is a must.
Previous mental health experience would be preferred.
Experience and/or knowledge of Military and Veterans Affairs would be considered an asset.
Completion of a post-secondary medical admin programs would be an asset.
