Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Concrete Labourer to join our small business. This role involves assisting with various concrete-related projects, including formwork, finishing, and restoration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and familiarity with construction tools and techniques. Experience in masonry, carpentry, or heavy equipment operation is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop hands-on skills in concrete installation and related trades within a dynamic work environment.
Duties
- Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials according to schematics and blueprints
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for construction projects
- Perform masonry tasks including caulking, flooring installation, and restoration work as needed
- Support welding, carpentry, and renovation activities related to concrete structures
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate project progress
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols related to construction sites, including proper handling of tools and materials
Qualifications
- Previous experience or training in construction-related fields such as masonry, carpentry, or concrete finishing is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with schematics are advantageous
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of rebar installation, concrete forming, welding, caulking, flooring installation, and restoration techniques is desirable
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions from blueprints or schematics
- Basic understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics effectively
- Prior experience with renovation projects or flooring installation is a plus
