Interfinance Mortgage Corporation (Lic # 12004),aboutique mortgage brokerage, is seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand our footprint across the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will play a key part in growing our business by developing and maintaining strong relationships with licensed mortgage agents level 2 and mortgage brokers while promoting Interfinance as a trusted lending partner. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven ability to cultivate broker relationships that generate consistent, high-quality mortgage opportunities. A strong understanding of alternative and private lending products, underwriting guidelines, and mortgage processes is essential to effectively support our broker network and drive business growth.
Pay Structure
Base salary plus commission per deal.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Business Growth: Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to expand Interfinance's broker network and increase mortgage volume within your assigned territory.
- Build & Strengthen Relationships: Establish, cultivate, and maintain long-term partnerships with mortgage brokers and agents, becoming their trusted lending resource.
- Provide Lending Expertise: Advise brokers on deal structuring, product selection, and submission requirements to ensure applications meet Interfinance's lending policies and underwriting criteria.
- Promote the Interfinance Brand: Conduct presentations, educational seminars, and webinars to brokerage offices and mortgage professionals, showcasing our lending solutions and value proposition. Act as an ambassador for Interfinance by attending industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and educational forums to enhance brand recognition and generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with Underwriting, Operations, Marketing, and Senior Leadership to deliver exceptional service and ensure a seamless experience for broker partners.
- Analyze Market Trends: Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and changes within the alternative and private lending landscape to identify opportunities for growth and maintain a competitive edge.
- Support Product Development: Provide market feedback and collaborate with internal teams to enhance existing lending solutions and contribute to the development of new products and programs.
- Achieve Performance Goals: Consistently meet or exceed established sales, funding, and business development targets while contributing to the company's overall growth strategy.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mortgage Industry Experience: 2–5 years of experience in business development, underwriting, or a related role within Ontario's mortgage industry, with a strong understanding of alternative and private lending.
- Established Industry Network: Proven relationships within the GTA mortgage broker community and a solid understanding of the local real estate and lending landscape.
- Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline is preferred. FSRA Mortgage Agent Level 2 or Mortgage Broker is mandatory and mortgage or underwriting courses are considered an asset.
- Sales & Relationship Management: Results-driven professional with a demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and consistently achieve growth objectives.
- Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence, educate, and collaborate effectively with brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Organization & Accountability: Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering outstanding customer service.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experienced with mortgage origination and underwriting platforms such as Filogix Expert, Velocity, Lendesk, Mortgage Automator, or comparable systems.
Transportation
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are required, as regular travel throughout the assigned territory is expected.
