Reporting to the Maintenance Director, Maintenance Manager will lead the implementation of a coherent maintenance and reliability strategy to reduce breakdowns and extend the life of equipment; increased planned vs unplanned. This position will be responsible for the technical leadership to ensure that production lines are capable and ready to run to the company standards. Maintenance Manger will manage maintenance budget in a timely manner to ensure the spending is on track within the budget.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Direct efficient maintenance and safe operation of all equipment in compliance with company policy and government regulations.
Work with Maintenance Director and Operations Team to establish KPIs to monitor the success of maintenance program, such as OEE.
Assure lines are mechanically capable of meeting company standard rates, and reliability, and improve up time.
Drives plant asset integrity and reliability program, including proactive maintenance programs, such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), maintenance scheduling (CMMS) and root cause analysis (RCA).
Optimize cost through effective budget planning and management.
Identify skills required, conduct gap analysis and implement program to increase capability of maintenance team.
Optimize the spare parts inventory by utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance tools and strategy.
The Recipe for Success:
B.Sc. in Engineering with 3 years of experience working in or supporting a maintenance team of skilled trades.
Or a certified trades person with 5+ years of experience working on a maintenance team.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience leading a maintenance or technical department with hands on experience implementing and using computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
Successful track record of implementing continuous improvement related to maintenance systems and teams.
Previous experience using TPM and RCM will be considered and a strong asset.
Experience leading and coaching a technical team including 3rd party vendors.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Financial and budgetary skills.
Knowledge of process/automation equipment related to the food industry is an asset or experience in advanced manufacturing practices in other industries such as Pharma, CPG or automotive will be considered.
Good communication, listening, and presenting skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced and demanding environment.
Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), as well as business systems such as an ERP system.
