Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in daily food preparation and service. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring that all food safety standards are met. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and basic cooking tasks to facilitate smooth restaurant operations and deliver quality service to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation activities, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for meals
- Support cooking processes by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Help with food service duties such as plating dishes and setting up serving stations
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Support the team in organizing supplies and restocking ingredients as needed
- Ensure all food industry safety standards are consistently followed to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and basic meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen staff and chefs
- Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking, food safety, and customer service
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting tasks as needed
- Prior experience in serving or food industry roles is a plus but not mandatory
