Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials, including tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl, ensuring precise and high-quality results. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. The Flooring Installer will work closely with project managers and other trades to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine flooring layouts and specifications.
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as needed to ensure proper installation.
- Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Install various flooring types including tile laying, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and resilient flooring according to manufacturer specifications.
- Use caulking, sealing, and finishing techniques to ensure a professional appearance and durability of the flooring.
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation.
- Collaborate with other construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and concrete finishing to coordinate project timelines.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction fields such as carpentry or masonry.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, caulking techniques, concrete forming, restoration work, cabinet installation, painting, plumbing, electrical experience, welding, tile laying, concrete finishing, heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Prior experience with construction estimating or schematic reading is advantageous but not required.
