Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Assistant Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate is an excellent educator with a sound understanding of the best educational practices and has the following qualifications and experience:
Key Duties:
- Deliver instructional content as per curriculum, meeting learning objectives
- Prepare Administrative Course syllabi and Master Course Outline (hand in two weeks prior to Week 1)
- Lead interactive lectures and discussions
- Punctually start and end classes and labs at the prescribed times
- Foster interaction among students
- Administer all assessments
- Grade and check work, projects, and quizzes in a timely fashion according to guidelines
- Follow procedures for recording grades
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently
- Responsible for grading books, final grade sheets, and file copies of final exams within 72 hours of the last class session
- Maintain Attendance records
- Provide students with resources and support
- Help students with resume preparation
- Attend faculty meetings
- Prepared Materials: Use curated materials from our curriculum team.
- Staying current with changes in your field
- Be familiar with the College’s most current Policy and Procedure manual
Qualifications:
- Membership of Ontario College of Teachers (required)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring primary students.
- Education Assistant field: 3 years (preferred)
- Experience with adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Strong understanding of diverse adult learners
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative problem-solving skills as demonstrated by the ability to relate well with students and staff members
- Interaction Skills: Skilled at inspiring and connecting with students.
- Good understanding of educational technologies including Microsoft 365 and LMS
- Adept at integrating innovation and new technologies in learning
- Strong knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis
- Fluent and proficient English-speaker
