Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, outgoing and attentive Host/Busser to join our dynamic team at Alena Rustic Italian.
In this role, you will provide exceptional guest services by greeting and seating Guests, assisting Servers, and additional duties as required, to ensure a memorable dining experience from all of our Guests.. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant experience/customer service and knowledge of food safety standards are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food service while delivering outstanding customer care.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Answer phones for reservations, Take Out orders, and general inquiries
- Place Take Out and Skip the Dish orders
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems (Pixel Point)
- Handle cash and debit/credit transactions accurately
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support team operations
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, dining areas, and restrooms in compliance with sanitation standards
- Manage guest inquiries professionally, providing excellent guest services and hospitality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Customer Service/Restaurant is required with preference in a Full Service restaurant
- Knowledge of POS systems (Pixel Point) is a bonus
- Knowledge of OpenTable is an asset
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple duties efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to handle food safely and adhere to sanitation standards
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team within a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Experience with food industry practices, including serving, food safety, and food handling is desirable
- Candidates must be available must be available evenings, weekends and holidays.
