SCOPE OF ROLE:
The role involves maintaining and repairing automated and mechanical systems within the manufacturing plant to ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability. This includes conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with production teams to implement effective solutions and enhance equipment performance.
CERTIFICATIONS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds 442A License (Required)
- CWB Certification (Asset)
- Machining practices (Milling / Lathe work / Drilling)
- Lift Truck License (Asset)
- Fall Arrest (Asset)
- Required to provide own tools
- Must be a team player
- Must have excellent communication skills
Hours of Work
- Monday - Friday 7am- 3pm
- Afternoon Shift as required by management (3pm-1am)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a proactive role in correcting and maintaining machinery, guarding and equipment.
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
- Supervise, guide and direct plant staff in their work duties
- Enforce policies and procedures set out by the company
- Circuitry design, sourcing and installation of new equipment.
- Implementation of automation processes.
- Setup and troubleshooting of robotic welding cells.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Assist with production as instructed by management.
- Ensure health and safety of temporary projects
- As required, weld or cut materials (Using thermal cutting process) either on the ground or in the air
- Fixing machinery, bake ovens (paint line), pumps on degreasers and cranes
- Responsible for maintaining the plant in a safe operating condition.
- Maintain building construction and maintenance of all facilities, such as masonry, steel and wood construction.
- Secure all areas and block traffic away from areas where maintenance work is being conducted.
- Establish and follow lockout procedures for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and kinetic energy.
- Maintain a critical parts listing.
- Work closely with production, senior management, and engineering to review all recommendations for assistance and alternative ideas.
- Lubricate, align, and adjust all equipment with health and safety standards in mind.
- Other general maintenance duties such as snow and ice removal, sanding, draining, and building maintenance.
- Maintain all fire equipment and sprinkler system.
- Perform scheduled routine and shutdown maintenance on all equipment.
- General housekeeping, all materials placed in designated area
- Follow Standard Preventative Maintenance Program
- Other tasks as assigned by the company
- Attend all continuing education and required job related training provided by the company

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Some heavy lifting required;
- May be necessary to move / lift with a lift truck
