ABOUT YOU
You will be a trusted Safety Services Technician that will play a critical role in the growth of our safety services division. Your core function will be to effectively and efficiently complete maintenance, repair and certification service work on customer owned fire extinguishers. As you grow into your role, additional responsibilities to establish and grow a kitchen fire suppression service enterprise may be available. You will be involved in all aspects of our safety services division including interacting with customers as they drop off equipment. This position reports to the Safety Services
Shop Manager. You will look forward to days filled with being on the road as you visit the customers’ and you’ll be comfortable and confident communicating and interacting with the customers onsite.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Perform all tasks needed as lead technician for fire extinguisher services.
- Perform tasks assigned as back up technician for breathing air services.
- Perform tasks assigned as back up technician for gas detection monitor services.
- Carry out tasks as lead technician for breathing air cylinder refill services.
- Maintain and clean the service shop area on a weekly basis.
- Maintain and clean the service truck and trailer on a monthly basis and bring any deficiencies to management’s attention.
- Demonstrate a professional service manner and a willingness to interact positively with customers.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures and processes
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The hours for this position are generally from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to
Friday but flexibility is expected.
- Some overtime may be required.
- Physically, you must be able to carry and lift fire extinguishers weighing up to 60 pounds.
- During work at client sites you may encounter varied work conditions (muddy, windy, snow, cold temperatures). There is some exposure to fire extinguisher powder during service work.
- This is a shop-based and field based job requiring some computer use, site visits, and sales & service related travel.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated experience driving a one ton truck and bumper hitch trailer.
- An ability to pay attention to detail and follow company service procedures.
- An ability to communicate service work information to customers.
