Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living is currently seeking an Office Manager for the Mental Health Review Board. The MHRB is an independent tribunal established under the Mental Health Act. Its mandate is to conduct hearings to ensure the Charter rights and freedoms of psychiatric patients are balanced against the need for treatment, applying the principles of fundamental justice.

Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver's Licence.

Experience providing administrative support in an office environment, including coordinating, tracking and monitoring requests, assignments and projects and creating and maintaining paper and electronic filing and bring forward systems
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
Ability to make decisions and problem solve
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues at all levels
Strong verbal communication skills
Effective written communication skills, including formatting, editing and proofreading documents with the ability to prepare email correspondence, letters and memos
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal direction/supervision
Extensive experience reviewing and evaluating complex documentation for relevance, content and accuracy
Experience gathering and analyzing data to evaluate complex information and make appropriate recommendations
Experience in handling sensitive material and information in a confidential manner
Experience maintaining, processing and tracking financial documents to ensure proper fiscal operations are maintained at high standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
Experience working with legal documents such as affidavits, subpoenas and court informations
Completion of post secondary program specializing in administrative support
Understanding of The Mental Health Act
Reporting to the Administrator of the Mental Health Review Board, the Office Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of administrative functions for the Mental Health Review Board office. Working with minimal direction, the Office Manager is responsible for interpreting and processing applications under the Mental Health Act, supervising office staff, ensuring all work is completed and deadlines are met. In the absence of the Administrator, the Office Manager is required to provide support to the Mental Health Review Board by attending board hearings and performing the day-to-day duties of the Administrator.
