Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Class DZ Driver with eperience driving a gravel truck and cement truck to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport gravel and cement across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to work with heavy equipment and forklifts as needed. The position offers a dynamic work environment where attention to detail and adherence to regulations are essential for success. This position is seasonal. French and English is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class DZ commercial vehicles for the transportation of freight and materials.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports related to freight movement.
- Assist with the securement of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or repairs as needed, including automotive repairs.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
Requirements
- Valid Class DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving gravel and cement trucks preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to the operation of the business.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently during deliveries.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks as required.
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
