About the Role
Our client is immediately hiring an experienced Finishing Superintendent to support the delivery of a 10-story concrete tower residential project in the downtown Vancouver area.
Role Description
You will have the opportunity to lead all interior finishes, ensuring finishing is completed in compliance with the construction scheduled. You will be responsible for coordinating finishing work with the project Superintendent by managing subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget. After project completion, you will immediately join another upcoming project with similar specifications.
Responsibilities
Coordinated with the Superintendent with the execution of all finishing work on construction site to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations and safety codes- Work with the Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure project plans and specifications are adequate to describe required finishing details
- Review trade contracts and scopes of work, lead daily finishing work on site
- Ensure all required permits are obtained
- Ensure that safe work practices and procedures are being followed onsite at all times
- Ensure accurate and timely project close date; adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met
- Working with the Construction Project Manager to resolve any constructional issues that may arise
- Ensure proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite prior to daily work commencing
- Review drawings for dimensional errors, construction detailing, and constructibility
- Supervise finishing workers onsite; provide feedback to workers, enforce company policy and administer disciplinary measures as required
- Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk
- Oversee finishing construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
- Develop, monitor and oversee quality control measures on worksites
- Ensure building inspections are completed periodically throughout the construction phases to ensure buildings meet specifications of clients
Skills and Requirements
Experience as a Finishing Superintendent on concrete residential towers- Ability and proven experience seeing projects to completion as a Finishing Superintendent
- Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity
- Strong communication, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
- Dedication to health and safety in the workplace
- Superior leadership qualities with a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers
- Results-oriented with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and time lines
- Possess a valid driver's license
