Overview

In this energetic position, you will coordinate vehicle and equipment movements on-site, manage traffic patterns, and support construction crews by maintaining a secure and organized work environment. Duties
- Direct and control the movement of construction vehicles, heavy equipment, and personnel around the site to prevent accidents and ensure timely operations
- Set up appropriate signage, barriers, and safety devices to guide traffic flow effectively
- Communicate clearly with equipment operators, construction teams, and external personnel to coordinate activities seamlessly
- Monitor site conditions continuously, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures promptly
- Assist with utility locating to ensure underground services are identified before excavation begins
- Support heavy equipment operation by providing safe access routes and managing site traffic during equipment movements
- Maintain accurate records of traffic management activities, incidents, and site inspections
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site management or traffic control roles with a focus on safety protocols
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, front loader truck, dump truck, and paving machinery
- Knowledge of construction processes including utility locating and site safety standards
- Ability to operate or understand the operation of Caterpillar heavy equipment is a plus
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external agencies
- Valid certifications in traffic control or flagging are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in utility projects is highly desirable
