Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Ice Cream Scooper to join our team at our new location in Varsity Marbleslab Creamery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for serving delicious ice cream to customers, ensuring a positive experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, sanitation, and upselling, contributing to a fun and welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Serve ice cream using proper scooping techniques while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Operate POS systems for processing transactions accurately and efficiently
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and integrity
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and assisting with menu selections
- Upsell to enhance the customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, including utensils, counters, and display cases in compliance with food safety standards
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without sacrificing quality
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed and support team members during peak hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is a plus but not mandatory
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks during busy periods
