Seasonal Ferry Operator / Collector – Ecolos Ferry (Rockland–Thurso Ferry)
About Us:
The Ecolos Ferry, also known as the Rockland–Thurso Ferry, crosses the Ottawa River between Clarence-Rockland and Thurso.
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a reliable and friendly Ferry Operator to join our team for the season. You’ll drive the ferry and collect payment from vehicles crossing the river. No experience is needed — we provide all training.
Main Duties:
- Safely operate the ferry for passengers and vehicles.
- Direct and help vehicles embark and disembark the ferry.
- Collect payments and issue receipts.
- Provide great customer service.
- Cover extra shifts when needed.
Schedule:
- Tuesday to Friday, 5am–2pm shifts.
- Plus some Mondays and weekends as needed.
- The season runs from early April to mid–end of December.
- We prefer someone who can return every year.
Pay:
- Starts at $24/hour — we give raises almost every year based on dependability and experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- 18+ years old.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Friendly and respectful with the public.
- Comfortable working outdoors and early mornings.
- Bilingual — French & English.
Start Date:
- August 11 — training takes about a month, so we’d like to get you started soon.
