ESL Instructor
Position Overview
DEA Canadian College is seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Instructor to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to adult learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ESL lessons that align with program learning outcomes.
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, projects, and classroom participation.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to promote student success.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for varying English proficiency levels.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technology, and educational resources to enhance learning.
- Encourage the development of students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Collaborate with academic staff and administration to support program quality and continuous improvement.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and institutional initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field.
- TESL, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent ESL teaching certification preferred.
- Previous experience teaching ESL/EFL students, preferably in an adult education or post-secondary setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms is an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
