Location: Trenton, Ontario, Canada and surrounding work areas
Company: Dave Scott Haulage & Excavating Limited
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, full-time. 7am to 5pm. Hours may vary based on operational needs, weather, customer requirements, project schedules, and seasonal workload. Additional hours may be required.
Compensation Range: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour

About This Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to support aggregate, hauling, pit, yard, customer delivery, and civil construction operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles, transporting materials, completing required inspections and paperwork, and supporting day-to-day operations across pits, yards, customer locations, and job sites.
This role is well suited for someone with experience in aggregate, construction, hauling, dump truck operations, or similar work environments.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles for aggregate hauling, deliveries, customer work, site support, and general operations
- Transport gravel, stone, sand, soil, fill, tools, equipment, supplies, or other materials as required
- Haul materials between pits, yards, customer locations, company property, civil projects, and job sites
- Complete loading, dumping, unloading, and material movement activities safely and responsibly
- Follow assigned routes, delivery instructions, site rules, traffic plans, and supervisor direction
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, pit staff, operators, customers, contractors, and other workers as required
- Complete required pre-trip inspections, circle checks, post-trip inspections, and vehicle checks
- Report vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, hazards, incidents, spills, property damage, or near misses promptly
- Complete required documentation, including inspection forms, delivery tickets, scale tickets, time records, fuel records, and other company paperwork
- Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe operating condition
- Comply with applicable road safety, load securement, company, customer, and site requirements
- Work safely around heavy equipment, trucks, pedestrians, customers, contractors, traffic, and changing site conditions
- Assist with general pit, yard, shop, fleet, aggregate, customer, or civil construction site duties when assigned and safe to do so
- Support loading/unloading activities and material placement as required
- Wear required personal protective equipment and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, training, orientations, and incident investigations as required
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with employees, customers, contractors, and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the role, in good standing
- Acceptable driver’s abstract that meets company and insurance requirements
- The company may obtain and review the employee’s driver’s abstract every three months, or as otherwise required
- Previous driving, aggregate, dump truck, construction, civil, pit, yard, or similar experience is considered an asset
- Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles in pits, yards, public roads, customer locations, civil construction sites, and changing weather/site conditions
- Ability to complete required inspections, forms, tickets, logs, and paperwork accurately
- Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Physically able to climb in and out of vehicles, inspect vehicles, secure materials, and work outdoors
- Must comply with company health and safety requirements and be fit for duty while operating vehicles or performing work
