Plant Supervisor
Starline Foods Inc. is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Plant Supervisor to join our team in Abbotsford, BC. This is a full-time position with an initial three-month probationary period on the night shift during the summer blueberry harvest. Upon successful completion of probation, the successful candidate will transition to a daytime Plant Supervisor role.
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead plant employees to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.
- Prepare the processing plant for nightly production.
- Coordinate incoming blueberry deliveries and outgoing shipments.
- Monitor production to ensure quality standards and production goals are met.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure the plant remains clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and workplace safety standards.
- Maintain communication with ownership regarding production, staffing, and operational needs.
- Assist with training and supporting seasonal employees.
- Ensure required supplies and materials are available for production.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in a food processing, manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment repairs.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak harvest season.
- Forklift experience is an asset.
- A valid BC driver's licence is required.
- A BC Refrigeration Mechanic Licence is considered an asset but is not required.
