Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Loading Rack Operator reporting to the Utilities and Offsites Superintendent. This is a full time position that will work a rotating shift schedule based in Prince George, BC. The Loading Rack Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the Tidewater Prince George Refinery Terminal. Primary responsibilities will include loading and offloading of rail cars and trucks, assisting with on-site rail movements and general 3rd party drivers as required. This is a full-time position that will work a rotating shift schedule.
Safely load and offload refined products from rail cars and trucks
Complete loading / offloading checklists and provide documentation for TDG shipments as required by regulations
Prepare plant equipment for maintenance, as well as issue safe work permits and ensure their completion
Complete and log all relevant actions as per Daily Orders, daily maintenance schedule and short-term plan by requested date. This includes routine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Shunt and spot rail cars under Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR)
Provide assistance to 3rd party drivers at loading rack as required
Administer tests and issue loading cards for new drivers
Grade 12 diploma
Valid Class 5 drivers license with clean drivers abstract
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
Successful completion of Transport Canada Railway Medical
1 – 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment
Previous rail experience would be an asset
The ability to work within a team environment
Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
