The South Riverdale Child-Parent Centre is a non-profit family support program that has operated in the Riverdale neighbourhood for 44 years. The Centre provides programs and services that support parents/caregivers, foster development, and strengthen families and communities, including a drop-in program, toy and book libraries, workshops, and outings. The Centre also operates as an Early ON site.

Position summary:
The Program Staff will work alongside Program Facilitators to implement play-based, developmentally-appropriate programs and activities for children aged 0 to 6 years, along with their parents and caregivers. The Program Staff will assist with facilitating the Saturday drop-in, and performing administrative tasks, such as maintaining Toy and Parenting Book Libraries, and collecting attendance data. The Program Staff will communicate and interact in a professional, constructive, and collaborative manner with participants, Staff Team, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with
● Welcoming and orienting new participants
● Coordinating drop-in, including
o implementing activities that scaffold children’s development
o preparing snack
o facilitating a song/story circle
o providing a safe, sanitary, welcoming, and enriching program environment
o modelling positive behaviour guidance techniques
o listening empathically to participants’ concerns
● Connecting families with community resources and neighbours
● Updating bulletin boards with health news and information about local programs and resources
● Maintaining Toy and Parenting Book Libraries:
o updating records
o collecting outstanding items
o cleaning and organizing materials
● Collecting accurate attendance data
● Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 25 per week
Salary: $23.00 per hour
