Reporting to the Senior Computer Operator, you will be responsible for alerting and escalation of the overall Information Technology operating environment on a 24/7 basis. The Computer Operator operates and monitors select operational environments across the IT infrastructure, the associated LAN-based systems, core applications, and batch processing.

Responsibilities include executing control commands to sweep Casino networks; performs regular backups; execute and monitor production batch job flows; and initiate file transfers. Computer Operators troubleshoot; ensure maximum uptime of Gaming and Corporate Networks, systems and applications; and escalate events and incidents to internal and external support teams using an established support matrix. This position monitors the environmental health of the AGLC’s data centers (temperature, humidity, and power) and acts as first line support after regular office hours for all scheduled production job flows and for client Service Desk calls.

The successful candidate will possess strong computer operational knowledge (micro, midrange). In addition, strong communication, problem solving, organizational, communication and time management skills are essential. Accuracy and attention to detail are required in this role as well as working independently and in a team environment working a variety of rotating shifts in a 24x7 operation offering coverage and support for clients and stakeholders.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a 2 year diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Centralized Computing environment.
  • Experience in various OS environments including AS400/Windows Server/Microsoft/Linux would be an asset.

Computer Operators work 10 hour shifts in rotation to provide 24 X 7 coverage.

Salary: $55,637.37 to $72,565.83 /year
