The Data , Insights & Analytics (DI&A) team at Loblaw is hiring a Director, Communications & Engagement to become a key leader in the team charged with making revolutionary change to our Identity Data Management (IDM) practices. Reporting to the Senior Director – Identity Management, the role will be responsible for coordinating a team of professionals as we build out the IDM capability, as well as keepi n g the IDM team fully “plugged into” the DI&A group and Loblaw as a whole.

The Director, Communications & Engagement is a senior business lead with extremely strong leadership, communication, influence, and organizational skills. You will be accountable for supporting and facilitating the partnership between internal working teams, project teams and internal customers. While the IDM Team drives the overall initiatives, you will provide consulting, support and best-practice evangelism in the identity data space across the organization, including Privacy & Consent Management .

As a member of the IDM leadership team, t he successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development and execution of our IDM Strategy and other data management programs. They will have a passion for using data to solve business problems and an existing strong foundation in customer advocacy, change management, customer journey mapping and CSAT/NPS tracking.

Initially the Director, Communications & Engagement will lead a small team of 1-2 communications professionals, with scope to both expand the team and also the reach of the role across other DI&A g roups .

What You'll Do:
Provide strategic communications , counsel and support to senior leadership and business partners for transformational change initiatives. Develop, execute, and support proactive and reactive communications tactics to support complex initiatives.

Design and lead the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy for the SCAI identity programme

Work with IDM analysts to create customer engagement and satisfaction measures and metrics, conduct the ongoing inquiry and provide expert counsel on team responses.

Own the stakeholder engagement for IDM and the SCAI identity programme, working closely with the identity programme manager to manage the stakeholder map and RACI

Developing content that can be used in proposals and initial offerings to internal clients

Coordinating materials and engagements to support the optimal positioning of IDM and the SCAI identity programme with clients and Loblaw customers.

Articulating the IDM and identity programme brand image and positioning, achievements, and goals to ensure unified communications

Creating materials that support IDM strategies and priorities. Working with leadership to identify and clearly communicate our value proposition for the integrated services IDM will provide

Work closely with business partners and senior leaders to develop and implement communication strategies that support IDM business objectives.

Develop and manage good working relationships and maintain open dialogue with key business partners and stakeholders to ensure adequate execution of project deliverables. Actively work to resolve escalated issues and manage changes within the project/program/initiative.

Provide innovative ideas to help improve strategic plans and tactics. Recommend changes as needed and be agile to implement changes as they occur. Evaluate effectiveness of communication vehicles through analytics and post-execution evaluations.

Lead on the delivery and management of project plans, ensuring established processes are followed .

Provide advice, consultancy and advocacy of IDM principles , know-how and best practices across the organization.

Become a go-to SME and professional communicator in the IDM space

Own and manage the IDM communications knowledge base

Represent the Identity Management team in internal and external meetings, conferences and events where an expert perspective is needed

Be our bridge to the organization: p rovide briefings to the IDM team on Loblaw opportunities, challenges , projects, teams and groups relevant to the IDM space.

What You'll Bring:
Experience in a communications role with management experience gained in a fast-paced environment, tech industry experience preferred

Agile experience mandatory, qualifications/certification preferred

Experience in change transformation within a complex system and integrated service delivery.

5+ years of experience as a Data professional. This could include hands-on experience with data architecture, data modelling, data quality, data governance, data engineering, identity resolution, ETL, natural language processing, AI/ML, metadata management, master data management, etc.

Experience with customer journey mapping and user stor ies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approaching challenges with energy and passion.

Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Strong detail orientation is essential in this role
