Company Overview:
Blackline Aluminum is a growing company specializing in window wall, curtain wall, railing, and aluminum systems for high-rise residential and commercial projects across Ontario. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drafter to join our team.
Position Summary
The Drafter will be responsible for preparing accurate shop drawings and supporting project coordination, engineering, and production activities.
Candidates must have direct experience preparing:
- Window wall shop drawings, and/or
- Railing shop drawings
Experience within the aluminum, glazing, façade, or architectural industry is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, production, and site teams.
- Revise and update drawings based on project requirements and feedback.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, building codes, and company standards.
- Support material breakdown and production processes when required.
- Maintain drawing accuracy and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Must be currently located in Ontario, Canada.
- Minimum 2–3 years of related drafting experience in the aluminum/glazing industry.
- Strong experience with Window wall shop drawings and/or Railing shop drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of aluminum and glazing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment.
Important Notice
This is a fully in-person position based in Markham, Ontario.
Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
