The Clinical Risk Advisor will foster and support a safety culture throughout ParaMed by encouraging and learning from near misses, clinical incidents, safety events and implementation of best practices to reduce harm and improve patient safety.

What you’ll do:
Support corporate-wide standardization of identification, reporting, analysis and evaluation of risk issues and trends in order to develop and implement mitigation that increases patient safety and reduces risk.
Respond to organization-wide risk events and provides expert consultation and advice on patient risk and policy.
Respond to external requests in a manner that meets legislative, regulatory and best practice expectations including review, analysis and mitigation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize opportunities and integrate best practices to ensure the organization's risk management processes meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Act as key internal consultant and educator on risk management; Liaise extensively with districts in developing and implementing risk management policies, plans and processes.
Lead, mentor and support districts in identifying, implementing and monitoring risk management activities.
Participates in special projects/initiatives and internal and external Policy/Procedure.

What you bring:
Registration in good standing with provincial regulatory college (RN, RPN, OT, PT)
Risk management education required; certification preferred (ie. Canadian Risk Management)
Experience leading risk management initiatives including measuring and assessing improvement and sustainment effectiveness
Proven coach who can lead, motivate and mentor others
Strong facilitator who can communicate effectively with broad audiences
Commitment to continuing education and professional development
Results driven in a complex environment
Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
