Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computer Science Tutor to support students in developing their understanding of computer science concepts and programming skills. This role involves working with students of various ages and skill levels, including those with special education needs, to foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong computer skills, and experience working with children in educational settings.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in computer science, programming, and related subjects such as math and general technology skills
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style and academic goals
- Assist students with understanding complex concepts related to computer science and coding languages
- Support students in improving their classroom performance through targeted instruction and practice
- Use effective teaching methods to engage students and promote active learning
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents or guardians as appropriate
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that fosters confidence and curiosity in technology topics
Skills
- Experience working with children or in classroom settings is highly desirable
- Strong background in computer science, programming languages, and general computer skills
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience, especially in STEM subjects such as math or computer science
- Knowledge of special education strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs and learning styles
- Passion for education and helping students succeed in technology-related fields
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
