Join our dynamic team as a Field Support Assistant, supporting noise and vibration monitoring projects at active construction sites.
This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on helping ensure monitoring equipment remains operational and project teams stay informed about site conditions. The position involves frequent travel to active construction sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding region, where you will inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and interact with site personnel. Successful candidates will be comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions and visiting active construction sites on a regular basis.
This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working independently, is comfortable spending time at construction sites, and takes pride in being reliable, organized, and professional. Experience working on or around construction sites is considered an asset but not required. Training will be provided.

You'll be joining a team of professionals who work together to help clients address unique challenges related to noise, vibration, and acoustics across a wide variety of projects.
Your key functions & responsibilities
With guidance and support from experienced teammates, you’ll:
- Conduct regular visits to active construction sites.
- Assist with the deployment, relocation, and retrieval of monitoring equipment.
- Inspect monitoring equipment to confirm it is operating properly.
- Verify equipment communications and connectivity.
- Replace batteries and perform routine equipment maintenance as required.
- Report equipment issues, damage, outages, or concerns to supervising staff.
- Coordinate site access and communicate regularly with construction personnel and site supervisors.
- Remain aware of ongoing construction activities that may affect monitoring equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
- Act as a professional representative of HGC while interacting with clients, contractors, property owners, and site personnel.
- Provide field support for monitoring projects as required.
Your characteristics, skills & knowledge
Our team moves quickly, so we’re looking for someone who builds trust through reliability, professionalism and personal responsibility. You are/have:
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Comfortable visiting active construction sites on a regular basis, including large residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects where conditions may be dirty, dusty, noisy, and physically demanding.
- Able to safely navigate active construction environments and work around ongoing construction activities.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your daily schedule.
- Reliable, organized, and dependable.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Able to perform work with professionalism, flexibility, and good judgment.
- Professional and confident when interacting with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
- Customer service oriented and able to build positive working relationships.
Your education & career experience
You have:
- High school diploma and previous work experience, or post-secondary education and/or work experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle for travel to project sites. Mileage incurred for business travel will be reimbursed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred or considered an asset:
- Experience working on or around construction sites.
- Experience performing field-based or outdoor work.
- Experience working with equipment, tools, or maintenance activities.
- Experience working in construction, engineering, environmental, utilities, surveying, infrastructure, or similar industries.
