We are currently looking for a Skilled Leadhand to join our team at Sanderson Concrete Inc. and APS Architectural Precast Systems Ltd. in Langley, BC.
If you’re an experienced labourer who enjoys leading a team, working with your hands, and being part of a fast‑paced production environment, this is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead a small crew while actively supporting the production of precast concrete products.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and work alongside a crew of labourers in setting up, casting, stripping, and finishing precast concrete products
- Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, vibrators, and saws
- Read and interpret production drawings and work orders
- Organize workflow to ensure efficient production processes
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
- Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Coordinate loading and unloading of materials and finished products
- Support other departments as required
- Perform manual tasks including overhead crane operation and steel tying
- Train, mentor, and support a small team (2–3 labourers)
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in construction, manufacturing, or precast concrete
- Proven experience leading small teams or crews
- Prior experience with carpentry, concrete, rebar and forms
- Comfortable working with construction tools and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements
