Bessborough Child Care Centre offers a Before & After school program for children (ages 4 to 12 years old) who are registered and attending Bessborough Drive Elementary & Middle School. We are looking to hire two (2) Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our close-knit team in the Leaside area.
- One (1) Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) will be working in our school age program. Most likely our younger group of children.
- One (1) Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) is required for a 10 month contract position in our Kindergarten Program, from September 2026 to June 2027. This contract position may provide the opportunity to transition into a permanent role, subject to organizational needs.

Qualifications / Requirements:
- ECE diploma/degree - New graduates welcome
- In good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR training certificate, including infant and child CPR
- Willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
- Working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, ELECT document, How Does Learning Happen and Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI)
- Thorough knowledge of developing and implementing programs for children based on emergent curriculum
- Excellent observation and documentation skills
- Behaviour management skills and the ability to lead children with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Experience working with children between the ages of 4 years- 12 years
- Strong organizational & communication skills, combined with a calm demeanour and a warm friendly attitude
- Good work ethics
We offer the following:
- Salary: $25.86/hour + PWE
- Operational months: September - June
- Hours: 7:00 am - 10:00 am & 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm (split shift)
- Instructional day hours: 6 hours/day - included: 1 hour/day to create an engaging weekly program
- Non-instructional day hours (i.e., P.A. Days, March Break, etc.) hours: 8.5 with paid lunch breaks
- TDSB supply lunchroom supervisor position available
- Costs covered: RECE registration fee, CPR/First Aid training, vulnerable criminal reference check, staff meetings
- Reimbursement of costs for professional development workshops/courses
- We are not open in July and August
