Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier & Prep Cook to join our team. This dual-role position is essential in providing excellent customer service while preparing quality food for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, experience in food handling and preparation, and a positive attitude to create a welcoming environment for customers. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in both food service and kitchen operations within a dynamic restaurant setting.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and courteously at the cashier station
- Take customer orders accurately and process transactions efficiently
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to established recipes and standards
- Cook menu items ensuring quality, presentation, and food safety standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations
- Follow all food handling and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Restock supplies as needed during shifts to ensure smooth operation
- Prepare and assemble poke bowls and nori sushi burritos consistently and efficiently
- Perform prep work and assist with back-of-house tasks as needed
- Assist with other restaurant duties as required to support team efforts
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts including peak hours, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Previous experience with POS systems or cash handling is a plus
