Our print division in Vancouver is seeking a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic/Machinist to join our fast-paced manufacturing team environment on a Full-Time basis.
Shifts are 12 hrs: 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. Full time is 36 hrs (Sun, Mon, Tue or Wed, Thu, Fri). Rotation from Day to Night every 2 week.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright’s/Industrial Mechanic’s role is to provide maintenance services for all plant machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair (i.e. Printing Presses, and other machinery, etc.). Participate in safety and communication meetings.
- Maintain constructive relationships with internal customers and suppliers. Support, assist and drive change initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain open dialogue with maintenance staff, production manager and supervisors by identifying concerns and opportunities for improvement.
- Understand and practice the application of company culture and values.
- Provide information to managers, supervisors and team leaders in a constructive manner.
- Adhere to 5S workplace organization standards, comply with safety policies and procedures ensuring that all Health and Safety standards are understood and practiced in a safe manner, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications required:
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic (preferred). Transferable skill, willing to challenge the millwright Red Seal Certification in 1 year, or apprentice year 2 or 3.
- CWB Certified in Welding and or Machinist (considered a strong asset).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Journeyman level.
- Strong understanding of PLC’s, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Valid Operators Certificate for Forklift, Scissor lift & Genie Boom.
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Print Industry Experience (considered a strong asset).
- Fall Protection and Confined Space Course (considered a strong asset).
- WHMIS.
- HVAC Experience.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts (day & night).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The hourly rate for this position starts at $44.81 per hour (supplemented), plus an additional night shift premium of $4.00 per hour when working night shifts. Allowances for tools, steel toe boots and prescription safety glasses are provided.
Bonafide physical requirements to carry out the duties of the role include; standing, walking, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 35lbs.
