The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence.

Working under the direction of the Associate Registrar and Director of Student Services, the TCard Assistant is a key member of the TCard Services team and is responsible for ensuring that all current and prospective students, staff, faculty, long-term guests, as well as other U of T community members and members of the public receive excellent customer service regarding the TCard and associated services and resources.
The TCard Assistant verifies user identity and student legal status and produces TCards, guides users to the TCard processes and policies, processes payments (POS, VISA/Mastercard/TCard+) for replacement TCards where appropriate, acts as the first point of contact regarding TCard Services to respond to inquiries and resolve minor complaints in person, on the phone, and via electronic communications, maintains TCard equipment and supplies, assists with TCard sessions, assists with verifying information on the TCard website and other communication vehicles, and provides other administrative support as needed. The TCard Assistant will assign and check the work of casual staff and work study students.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
Resolving minor complaints within the scope of the role and referring larger issues when appropriate
Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
Checking to ensure equipment is in working order
Directing the activities of casual staff
Assigning and checking the work of work-study students
Collecting and submitting timesheet data for processing
College Certificate or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
Minimum two years of related work experience in a Post-Secondary service environment, including providing support and information to students
Demonstrated experience working with Point of Sale machine, data management systems such as MyPhoto or IDWorks, ROSI, and UTORauth
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, and effective troubleshooting skills (i.e. equipment)
Demonstrated ability and interest in working with students
Ability to exercise sound judgement, tact, discretion and diplomacy
Must have the ability to work within a dynamic team environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail are key contributors

Experience directing the work of casual staff and work study students
Familiarity with the University of Toronto, its divisional and registrarial structure, and knowledge of international students

Hours of Work: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:45 AM - 5 PM; Wednesday: 8:45 AM - 7 PM and; Friday: 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM

USW Pay Band 04 - $43,578 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $55,731. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
