About Clarke Electric
Clarke Electric is a licensed ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) electrical contractor with more than 45 years of experience serving industrial and commercial clients across the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for an experienced leader to grow our electrical service business.
Position Summary
The Electrical Service Manager owns Clarke Electric's service operation from end to end. You are the senior technical authority on service work, the person clients rely on when something is down and a clear, reliable answer is needed, and the owner of the relationships, quoting, and recurring agreements that make up our service business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you lead the service team, including the Service Foreman, service coordination, and the electricians assigned to service work.
This role suits an experienced licensed electrician with real industrial depth: someone confident in plant environments, fluent in industrial controls and equipment, and effective leading both a team and a customer through a problem under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day service operation: intake, prioritization, and resolution of service calls and customer issues across industrial and commercial facilities
- Act as the senior technical authority on troubleshooting, including the most complex plant and industrial faults involving motor controls, soft starters, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and electrical distribution
- Own service quoting: price service and repair work accurately, with clear scope and appropriate protective language, supported by the service coordinator
- Lead and develop the service team, including the Service Foreman, service coordination, and service electricians
- Build, price, and manage recurring service and maintenance agreements, including arc flash and power quality studies, infrared scanning, bus duct maintenance, and high-voltage maintenance
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for service clients, from first call through to resolution and follow-up
- Coordinate with engineers and the local utility on service-related power, metering, and study requirements
- Scope and support larger service-driven industrial work, such as service upgrades and equipment installations, as it arises
- Track service response times, quality, and profitability, and report on performance to the General Manager
Qualifications
- A licensed electrician 309A Construction and Maintenance Certificate of Qualification, with deep industrial experience
- Extensive industrial service and troubleshooting experience, typically 5 or more years, with genuine plant-level depth
- Demonstrated depth in industrial electrical work
- Experience pricing and quoting service and repair work
- Experience leading or coordinating a service team, crews, or technicians
- Strong client-facing communication skills and the composure to lead during facility downtime
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the GTA
