Qualifications/Skills
Required
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident (work permits are not eligible for the role)
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on injection mold setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience independently performing complete mold changes.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes and machine setup.
- Experience troubleshooting molding defects and process issues.
- Ability to read production work orders and setup documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience in high-volume plastics manufacturing.
- Background in food packaging, consumer packaging, or plastic container manufacturing.
- Technical training in plastics processing or a related manufacturing discipline.
What You'll Be Doing
Machine Setups & Changeovers
- Perform complete mold changes on injection molding machines.
- Install, remove, and secure molds and associated tooling.
- Set up machines according to production schedules and process requirements.
- Perform machine start-ups and verify production readiness.
- Optimize machine parameters to achieve quality and production targets.
Production Support
- Monitor production performance and product quality.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and process issues.
- Respond to machine alarms and support production uptime.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and quality.
- Maintain process consistency across production runs.
Maintenance & Documentation
- Perform basic mechanical adjustments and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Complete setup documentation and record machine process parameters.
- Follow standardized work instructions and production procedures.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure products consistently meet quality standards and customer specifications.
